Indie devs are in a tough spot: don't use AI, and watch everyone else ship games x5 faster than you or use it and be damned. I don't think there are many coders left that are not using AI agents for coding right now, it's just that effective (been coding games for 28 years, professionally for 20)

This is all that people never used and don't know these systems have to say, it doesn't work that way, if you think all it does is scan the web and copy stuff you are talking with no idea of reality

it is always "woe is me I'd simply be stupid if I didn't use AI haha I HATE it obviously but if I didn't use it I'd e FUCKED, right? Don't you agree? AI makes you 20x more productive after all. No, obviously training a math algorithm on artist's work isn't plagiarism. Aren't humans math too?!"

if you're using my shit in an amalgamated mish-mash you should give me a credit, and that goes for every other person whose code the model scraped. time to start the excel sheet for the number of people you need to credit because it's going to be, charitably, thousands.

Nuance and not thinking in black and white dude, bad shit is often not 100% bad and same for good stuff, and AI is being applied to a ton of different things, e.g. Medical research, there's a lot of very bad shit, a lot of slop and definitely a bubble, but it will stay, it's not all bullshit

Conflating machine learning applied to problem-specific data sets with genAI in order to imply that LLMs being used in medical research is a good thing, is not an approach that makes me confident someone'd honest or understands LLMs.

For clarity, LLMs should not be used in medical research or practice, ever, because an LLM cannot accept responsibility but that's exactly why people are pushing for LLM tools in medicine. All backed by the same spurious "it helps busy professionals save time" bullshit.

Obviously people have the responsibility of whatever work they are doing, this is unlocking a lot of tasks that would be literally impossible to do otherwise, just like computers allowed people to do things like mapping our DNA, there are lots of applications for gen AI in STEM
