You could also move abroad. I met my (Spanish) wife in Manchester and a couple of years later I was teaching in Barcelona. My school in Manchester gave me nightmares most nights. Often about SLT coming after me.

That's why I went into leadership, so I could teach the way I wanted...LOL

Of course what I really meant, was I thought I was right about how to teach and pesky assistant and deputy heads were wrong...🤣

Ultimately it is the teacher who is the decision maker in the complex interaction. The teacher who knows themselves best. Who knows the content they know. Who knows the outcomes of the prior interactions etc. The teacher needs to feel that ultimately they have agency of the decisions they make.
