They shouldn’t feel stupid, they should feel afraid of getting their fucking faces smashed in for wearing a wire.

YouTube's shown me a couple ads for Meta's glasses, and every use-case they've shown made me think "isn't this an invasion of privacy?" ... actually that describes a lot of Meta's MO over the years, so I guess that makes sense.

Saw one ad for a dude in a concert crowd right? Next thing I find is a reddit AITA "for wearing my prescriptions to concerts now?" Major concert venues themselves say no recording, what makes you think you'll get away with that? They're catching on too, and absolutely refusing service

I think they do, I saw someone with moderately severe vision problems talking about how they were afraid to wear the smart glasses they'd started using for reading signs and manus, because strange men had yelled at them about them and they were now worried about being assaulted

Well, personally I want a pair so I can read signs and menus in kanji when I go to Japan (I think you can rent them there) and would also like to not be beaten up for reading signs and menus. I guess I could use Google Lens for menus but signs are a bit more awkward, it would look like I'm filming.

Honestly I like the idea of them, esp with potential subtitles as someone with hearing issues. Great possibilities for those with disabilities as well. But I also don't trust them to do any of that without uploading that data to shit... so I'll wait 'til there are regulations

Shit, I was going to buy a pair, so I could do photography quicker Rather than waste time and lose a chance by opening my phone, I'm autistic and didn't realize people hate them. Looks like I'm not getting a pair
