When they make movies about this in the future they will tone down the cruelty of ICE and border patrol, like Spielberg did with Goeth in Schindler's List, because no one will believe they were actually this monstrous.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast. The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me. But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

I feel like I should point out this is literally a scene in Oliver... Which is stopped to paint the villains as cartoonishly evil as all the children are served nutritionless slop while they eat a feast...

There are going to be movies about how some guy just wanted to do the right thing and believed in immigrating "the right way" and he'll be so sad about all the abuse he was forced to commit by a cruel system but no one was at fault

Same thing with the portrayal of Trump himself. after a certain amount of time, it might be hard to believe how over-the-top cartoonishly evil, ridiculous and vapid he really is. the attempt to give him some level of a nuanced, semi-relatable portrayal will be too tempting.

Now imagine said future movies about Trump & ICE made, as was Schindler's List, by a different country with the actors speaking another language (say, Chinese).

100% This level of cruelty is so unfathomable. Who would do this let alone let others around them do something like this? I feel like I have lost my mind every other day reading about all this.
