I support the death penalty only for white collar crimes, and I think working on or advocating surveillance pricing should get you the chair

A ban on surveillance pricing—using people's private data to set prices—is already setting off the big retail and grocery companies, which bought Seattle Times banner ads and are sending mass texts to convince consumers it's in our best interest to let companies mine our data to decide what we pay.

This kind of thing would be like a net negative on all humanity for decades and result in trillions of dollars of profit. Meanwhile the average person could get like....maybe a few thousand dollars if they robbed someplace? Why is all the evil shit rich people want to do legal? Oh right......rich.

For corporate bribes the punishment should be pressing for all involved, the broker and the politician being bribed. At the same time, into each other.

I've long thought that it kind of says everything about the American justice system that we'll execute your ass if you've robbed a liquor store a few too many times, but if you steal the life savings of hundreds of people, we'll send you to a cinder block tennis club for a few years and call it even

I also think we need a new amendment to replace the 8th that says "cruel and unusual punishment prohibited unless it's something a monkey paw would do to a bad person in a cautionary tale". I think being buried in coinage equivalent to the bribe you took should be on the table.

I had the idea of putting bomb collars on the necks of the 100 wealthiest people. Then, you give everyone else a device that asks one question once a year. Is your life better than it was a year ago? If more than 50% say no, BOOM.

Dynamic Jailtime - calculated daily on a random mix of behaviour and public interest on keeplng you locked up by the shittiest LLM one can find. Very likely some tech-ghoul has already a pitch ready and a patent pending.

For similar reasons, I think that we should grant universal clemency for anyone who commits a Pretty Boy Floyd style robbery where they wipe clean everyone's data before making their getaway.

I truly believe that criminal punishments should increase in harshness based on your net worth. If you're truly rich you have an oversized impact on society, it just makes sense you should also have an oversized responsibility.

The amount the suffering these economic pirates cause, while against the death penalty in almost all cases, I would definitely support life imprisonment for shit like this. I don't care if it is a Martha Stewart prison, just keep them out of society.

There are about 2,000 people on death row in the United States. I feel pretty comfortable saying that Richard Sackler did more damage than all of them put together. A mass shooter or serial killer could only dream of his body count.

"this serial killer murdered 10 people!" "that's nothing, this CEO's coffee break means the death and suffering of thousands upon thousands"
