if ISAT was slick and quick to finish and easily understandable then it would be boring as hell. the player has to suffer just like sif

I read a comment that part of the mid-game was made intentionally tedious to put you in the headspace as Siff. If so, what made you choose what seems like a risky decison. Im specifically referring to where you can dead end three times and then get told you need to go back to the previous floor.

i got stuck like act 3 cause i couldnt figure out a way to beat the king and i kept missing one crucial component of every out so i stopped playing for like a month before finally coming back and finally taking that mf down without either of the items cause i memorized his attack patterns

siffrin: i have been here for weeks... repeating the same things over and over again... im going crazy player: (has played for one hour) VS player: i have been here for weeks... repeating the same things over and over again... im going crazy siffrin: same here! and im also stuck in a timeloop

It’s 100% makes sense and I love it in a time loop mechanic. I just had visceral reaction when I got to the “right” door and got told to go back where I just shouted “oh fuck you game”. So, I guess it works as intended.

I've never been more emotionally in sync with a game than when I saw the tutorial enemy and my thought of "oh my god this fucking guy again" was immediately answered with the "just kill it" option

And then you take the option because it's what both you and Siffrin want. But then Siffrin goes overboard and you get that dissonance that makes you regret it...the same way he does afterward. Easily one of the best moments of the entire game. Crazy that it's missable.
