Just an awful reversal. VAR reviews need to be like replay in the NFL - has to be an OBVIOUS wrong call or you stick with the call on the field. Third time VAR has failed fans in two nights. So sad. #FIFAWorldCup #WorldCup2026

I asked this question after the Iran goal was disallowed. Does replay have to be overwhelming evidence to turn it over, similar to NFL. Compare it to a catch in/out of bounds. The smallest margin in NFL will change the call-even if the ref couldn’t tell in real-time. So it really is the same.

Everyone knows this but VAR gives FIFA room to manage results. It gave Argentina the cup in 2022.
