They aren't really buying them just for the games though. Kadokawa is a major entertainment company. Video games make up 10% or less of their business. They're mostly into book publishing, anime, and film.

Great move by Sony. With Microsoft buying Bethesda and Activision, this makes total sense for Sony. Keep in mind, when it comes to prime IP, Sony basically writes studios a blank check and gives them as much time as needed.

I might be in the minority but I really won't care if they do buy it. It's not like any one company is doing flawlessly with their business, not Nintendo, Sony, or XBox. Steam isn't really on my radar.

hearing the several sentiments that sony does not release finished games, the monopolization of the anime industry, the fact sony treats it's ips like trash and the likelihood of us seeing continuations of many games is slim, and the chance of them even being good is slimmer is such a scary thing

Maybe, but the unfortunate difference is that Sony is.......Sony. Imagine the next big Soulsborne game (or rest of the games that FromSoftware will ever make) being locked away from Xbox and PC FOR A FULL YEAR AFTER RELEASE. Im praying that the people at KadoKawa dont actually go through with this
