I can't help but think of all the times citizens have reported threats, online stalking, etc etc to the police only to be told there's nothing that can be done until something happens. This is the remix of the same song I've been singing, but I'm tired of watching the government play in our faces.

A Florida woman was charged Tuesday after police said she ended a call with BlueCross BlueShield with the words, “Delay, Deny, Depose. You people are next.” She was charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, and her bond was set at $100,000. www.wfla.com/news/polk-co...

This is false arrest. She made no threat, never said ahe would shoot anyone. Utter BS. I hope she sues and. I hope she sues that police department and becomes a millionaire out of this.

Florida has pretty stringent tort "reform" which would nullify any jury award that might be adjudicated to a poor person. Funny how it's never used to reduce corporate civil awards...

Given that it's Florida... There could have been better, more peaceful ways than recreating a spongebob episode where Spongebob unknowingly sabotages Squidward's protest against the Krusty Krab as a business. I can already see the replies wanting to use the bugs bunny gif so bad.

Bad Faith Journalists often use Florida as the go-to punchline. "No, it's not the government, it's the people who are wrong". This is likely due to the wake of that incident at a school were a draconic staff was NOWHERE to be found in a crisis.

I experinced severe bullying in high school, and it was pretty much was a sampler of what's to come. Keep your head low and don't let out a single word. Faculty, much like the police once graduate, will never help, only hinder you as their services are sold to the highest bidder.

Reminds me of the case that gave cops the right to tell everyone to fuck off. Woman had a restraining order. Dad kidnapped her kids. They gave her the run around all day about it, when she showed up at the police station, cops told her that the person who handled missing persons was gone.

This was after telling her to be there at that time to talk to that officer. Told her to go home, they couldn't do anything for 24 hours anyway (even though kids die in the first 48 and she had a restraining order.) That's when he showed up at the station.

My sister's vet clinic has gotten death threats before and the police have done nothing. But I guess a man threatening to come to the clinic and shoot up the place is much less threatening than a vague threat on a phone call with a help desk.

Yep-two tiers of justice also means two tiers of protection...as an integral part of sustaining the capitalist (mostly white male)hierarchy, law enforcement will always prioritize the wealthiest and their interests( property) first, and this goes all the way back to its origins in slave patrols. Sick.

I got stabbed 5 months ago in Bedstuy and they've never been able to catch the dude, despite an entire reddit thread about him assaulting people. Same police force that just spent the last week going all out to catch a Mario brother.

I personally had a cop laugh in my face when I showed them threats that were said to me. The police have never once been there to protect, they have always been there to serve the rich and elite. Glad ppl are finally catching on to that fact

This is going to lead to another person jumping into the replies trying to negate this thought because this is a 1:1 comparison, and I'm just gonna block them this time so I can get back to goofing. Got a strict schedule of pointing out the horror and then comedic relief.

“No jury is going to convict on that” has to feel a lot scarier when it’s your next several decades on the line. This sort of thing is how they force people who committed no crime into taking plea deals. Poor lady is really seeing all the ways the system is rigged against her.

The funny thing is that their fear response will just galvanize the people they fear the most into direct action by highlighting just how much they have stacked the system against us. I dont think things are going to play out the way they want this to.

They don't need to convict her. They threw her in jail and set a $100,000 bond. Even if she's acquitted eventually, that doesn't take back the jail time that she's being forced to serve.

Once I was harassed at my job and the man pulled his junk out and tried to touch me with it. There was video evidence. I hit him with a hanger to get him to stop. Cops said "you should have been nicer to him" and did nothing. My loss prevention kept him away from me after that. Broken system.
