If I learned anything from Chuck E. Cheese, it's that anything that runs on tokens is bullshit that is ripping you off

I know this is an AI post, but a thing that always troubled me at arcades where the machines ran on quarters & you got the quarters from the arcade, with the guy who had the quarter dispenser was-- how is this not all a net zero? I figured it out eventually, but it troubled me in 3rd grade.

I've randomly watched some YouTube videos of adults going to Dave & Busters and winning a Playstation for like $100 worth of plays but those guys also regularly get banned from places because they don't like when you win too much. Just like a casino.

If not for the fact it supports an environmentally and socially destructive practice, actually, the idea of paying for tokens to begar the likes of Altman and these other dweebs acrually sounds like something a lot of people could get behind.

Maybe we force him to make the little investors, the people whose pensions and mandatory investments will have gone up in smoke by the end of this, whole by working a dunk tank or taking payed swings from an inflatable hammer until the debts cleared.

Deterrence, catharsis, and social service all in one. Also, making him assemble to the public and deflating the myth these morons are geniuses, or anything but barely above average psychopaths who got too much access to education and who used the resulting vocabulary to run confidence games.

I interviewed at the Buffalo company ICE (Innovative Concepts in Entertainment) that makes a lot of those token games (there first hit was Bubble Hockey). At the interview with the owner he asked "are you passionate about games?" I burst out laughing and said "no, they're a waste of time" 🤣

I’m not sure if they still do this, but they used to have one day with free unlimited tokens. As a kid, it was like being allowed to swim in Scrooge McDuck’s money pool
