All those artists cancelling their Freedom 250 gig & saying they didn’t know it was political should be lining up to play at Bruce Springsteen’s Power to the People Festival. It has been a lonely slog for Bruce. Much respect. Big names, where are you? Time to show up. #PowerToThePeople #Springsteen

This is sooooo right but Rage Against the Machine is another heroic band. We absolutely need more to join but let's not forget the drop kick Murphys and the others who are on the right side of this. It is though eerily quiet from the majority of celebrities.

Everyone with fame and power that does nothing is complicit. Superstars could change the world if they stopped listening to their agents, or had a conscience to begin with. They care more about money than any legacy.

Presale sold out with an 80k wait g list for a 25k venue…when Bruce announced it Wednesday night he suggested it would be at Nats Park. It seems they should have secured a larger venue. And Bruce is not alone or struggling in any way.

These mother fuckers would have to live under a rock not to know what they were agreeing to. They pulled out bc the temperature around the event was heating up. They should BEG to join on with Springsteen for a reduced price since they got caught being assholes for a moment.

I think they all knew it was a political event when they signed up. What they didn’t expect was the backlash from their fans. Granted Donold has become more and more insane over the past few months-but they all knew it was his event.

They should be having more general conversations with their booking agents. Anyone claiming that they were unaware of the partisan nature of the “Freedom 250” event probably shouldn’t be employed in endeavors where such awareness is necessary.

It COULD be, however, that the entire event was pitched to the artists as non-partisan, and disclaimed as a Trump thing. Which is what Martina McBride alluded to in her statement? But, yeah. The agents must have had known the partisan nature of it.

Please!!! Anyone who doesn't realize that everything Trump is political. Look what he did with the Memorial Day speech. Some of these artists are either braindead or disingenuous. Really, anything Trump needs to be sanctioned.

Where is Swift, I wonder? Taylor Swift has built a brand on allyship while the communities she claims to stand with are losing rights in real time. She endorsed Harris when it was relatively safe, posed with pride flags when it was on-trend, and goes quiet when showing up could cost her something.

“She’s getting married” is not a reason to go silent while American citizens are being killed by federal agents. Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny and others found time. A tweet takes thirty seconds. “Well-known position” that produces no visible action during a crisis is a brand management.

I'm just amazed that they thought it would be anything BUT partisan. In what part of Trumps history has he brought people together? When has he ever ignored his petty grievances with blue states and helped the people living there? All he's ever done is divide us so I ask, what were they thinking?

All the ‘artists’ claiming they were misinformed are full of BS. Any event associated/given/supported by trump is a political stunt. And anyone who has paid attention knows it. They joined on for the money & because their popularity has faded. And now they’re whining.

It’s too bad Ticketmaster and resale bots have made getting tickets impossible. Today was presale and within 50 minutes all the tickets were gone and we already showing up on resale sites for 2x more than face value.

It’s Tom Morello’s Power to the People festival. Not Bruce’s. It’s tiresome that people act like protest music doesn’t count if it’s not Taylor Swift or some washed up rock group from the 80s. Morello, Dropkick, Killer Mike - all better activists than any billionaire mega-entertainers.

1/2 I don’t believe they didn’t know it was political. I think they saw the backlash to Freedom 250 and knew in time they’d take a big $$$$ hit if they participated so they’re backing out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m GLAD they won’t be a part of 250 but please, if you know it involves the government,

I am surprised they didn't know with all that's been going on, but at least they are doing the right thing. And Bruce has got some pretty powerful artists and bands going here...heck...Foo Fighters, Jack Black and some others I don't recognise, but supposed to be big. It takes time to build
