My Mom was one of those who did not want to become a US citizen even though she lived much longer in the US than her native country. When she was alive, having a green card and being married to a US citizen meant she never gave her immigration status a thought.

Stripping birthright citizenship by generations would make almost all of us deportable lol. Only First Nations people would be safe.
