i'm doing some accounting today and it's INCREDIBLE how no one can agree on even like, five date formats. ISO 8601 is the one true and correct way and everything else can get bent. Apple: 05.07.2026 Adobe: 13-AUG-2026 1Password: July 1, 2026 Nintendo: Jun. 15, 2026 Github: 2026-07-19 (YES GOOD!)

Other actual time signatures from Nintendo “recently” “a while ago” “for a little bit” “more than 10 hours” 😡

Something that really annoys me is how the date formats on expiration dates aren't standardized, and very often they use something really weird where you have to guess what is the day and what is the month.

I remember that time when I wanted to see the exact time I had written something. I don't remember which service, but I know the date format was: "Two months ago"
