Tower 18 for Mac is here — and it’s all about the terminal! 🥳 Tower is a visual tool. But with AI agents, even GUI fans are spending more and more time in the terminal these days. So we gave our command line tool a serious upgrade! Here’s everything you need to know 🧵 1/10

First things first: after updating, head to Settings → Integration and click “Update” next to the Tower Command Line Tool. This is the last time you’ll need to do it! The tool is now a link to Tower itself, so it updates automatically with every release 😎 2/10

The classic, now smarter: type "gittower ." from anywhere in your project (even a subfolder) and Tower opens that repository. Want it in a new window or tab? Add "-n" or "--new-tab". 3/10

Jump straight to the History of a branch, a tag, or a single file. Spotted an interesting commit in git log? Paste its hash into "gittower commit <hash>" and Tower opens History with that commit already selected. 4/10

Who wrote this line? "gittower blame <file>" opens Blame right away. You can even travel back in time with Git’s own <revision>:<file> notation. Same file, two points in its life, one command apart! 5/10

Your AI agent just finished its work? Type "gittower status" and review its changes in a proper diff view before anything gets committed 😎 6/10

Branches Review can now be opened with filters, sorting, and search already applied. Only stale branches? Only the ones that won’t merge cleanly? One command each. 7/10

Created a branch for your agent? Tell Tower where it came from with "gittower branch parent". Tower then shows the branch’s Fork Point: the commits your agent added sit right above it. No more guessing what’s new! 8/10
