I appreciate Matthew Yglesias owning up to his worldview that calling out attacks on democracy is "resistance maximalism." A lot of people in the mainstream press aren't as honest about the institutional bias toward both-sidesing democracy for fear of alienating Republicans, but he just says it!

Yes! Those who deny the GOP has become anti-democracy are fearful. They don’t really believe their both-sides rhetoric. They don’t fear anti-democratic forces on the left. They fear alienating fascists. A pro-democracy party will supplant the GOP. In the meantime, the Dems’ll keep demming & winning.

Dude sucks. Maybe he was good in the AOL days or some crap like that. Feels like he has a lot of influential readers that read him when they were young and hip and he carries residual credit.

How long until he becomes a Republican? His views are despised by the Dem base, the DSA is having success, and every day, we get closer to election results showing that his centrist theory of victory is trash. He’s the John Fetterman of Nate Silvers

He is more and more an old man yelling at clouds. Calling out attacks on our democracy is "resistance light" not maximalism. The punditocracy is self-smothering in their own word play.
