"it's better than me at making spooder ma'am fanart, i'm out of a job" yes but, 'making spooder ma'am fanart' is also a gross misuse of your capacity, no? like, this, even as 'a way to make it as an artist without selling out', is fucking bleak, yeah?

i think this is why programmers are so amenable to it; many of us program during the day to make money so we can program at night, and approximately no one doing that sincerely believes in the thing they program during the day, not as 'something worthy of them' at least

it's always "well this will only actually require n% of me, which is less than the m% they're ostensibly compensating me for, so, i guess" or sometimes, "this will require m% of me, which is more than the n% i really have on offer, but, it might be something amazing"

people outsource tasks that - they wish they didn't have to do, but, do - that make them money, or something like money (ex: fame) - where 'good enough' was all it ever had to be with or without 'ai', that's just how that works

so the next question is "how have we allowed life to be composed of so many activities with that shape, and can we do something about that?" and one thing you can do, of course, is automate those tasks, but there are others
