A Christian pastor on a New York public school board voted against approving a senior class trip to Boston that included a stop at the Salem Witch Museum. He called it "Satanic." Then he admitted: “I can’t really say that I know the history of it.” www.friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-...

Witchcraft, if there had even been any in Salem, has nothing to do with Satan. Satan is a Christian character, he doesn't exist in Wiccan beliefs. Which has nothing at all to do with what happened in Salem which was entirely Christian, in all its suspicious, misogynistic, murderous glory.

So, the Xian solution is to embrace the enmity of the Devil? In my experience, the real problem many lip-service-only Xians have with self-proclaimed (or accused-as-such) Wiccans (aka 'witches') is that the Wiccans are almost all 'rabid' (read: seriously committed) environmentalists in very deed.

Maybe they should instead go to the Satanic Temple, also in Salem. The kids could take their picture with the Baphomet statue!

Not surprised they wouldn't want to approve a visit to the Salem Witch Museum. Not because it's "Satanic" but because the students might learn what the Salem witch trials were really all about. Just a little too close for comfort.

I was thinking the Museum might want to extend him an invite to learn but then thought meh, why put them through that close minded BS

Are we really surprised that a pastor is going to make moral pronouncements on a subject without knowing much about the subject or having any sensible reason to oppose it? Religion would die a quick death if that stopped working on gullible idiots.

Sure. Don't let them see how RELIGION tortured and murdered countless women that were erroneously accused of witchcraft! Unless they were going to hold a Black Mass, the kids should have been allowed to go. Satanic? Yeah, that's exactly the behavior those Salem "preachers" had.🫤✌️💙

Another shoot first ask questions later? I’ll tell you, go visit Salem in the spring , go to the PeabodyEssexMuseum ( PEM ) And see for yourself. The library there has all you need to make judgment on something you , right now, know nothing about.
