#Skynet wasn't just a movie theme... "your Google Photos data is used to infer your interests, relationships to people in your photos, and where you’ve been, including by associating your face with corresponding location data and timestamps.”

Someone remind me in a week to migrate to proton drive in a week. Right now, I just can't deal with more shit. I hope the NSA likes the photos of nonagenarians nail fungus and necrotic foot sores.

Seems like the kind of data an authoritarian government would want in order to identify "dissidents" and "enemies of the people". And Google is the kind of company that would sell it to them.

If you view a YouTube video, Google forces a 2 way streaming port connection to your system that follows everything you say and do online. The most relentless invasion of your privacy. Google/Youtube tracking can double your monthly bandwidth use without your permission. Clear web data daily!

These data trackers are force installed on your system every time you go online. They are not just cookies, they are FORCED port streaming connections collecting outgoing data without your knowledge or permission. Of course with Trump’s militant FCC chair, it will only get worse.

If you want to see just how relentless these trackers are, set your personal firewall to “ASK”for all incoming or outgoing connection attempts. Billable internet usage is for data moving in either direction. Internet providers are not telling you that tracking data connections are billed to you.

Google, using Gemini AI to access and exploit the entire recorded history of its users’ private communications, including literally every email and attachment sent and received in their Gmail accounts.”

I can disconnect it from my Google. I'd have t set up a whole new YouTube account, though. I'm pissed, though, because I actually LOVE the grammar engine on Google docs. I have literally never caught it suggesting a grammatical error. I've never had to correct it once.

It’s getting so complicated!!! I can barely keep up and I know I’ve signed away my rights over and over w/o actually knowing where or why. I feel like I need a refresher class in all of this because I really can’t figure it out.

I purposely don't use offers for AI from my phone or Google but I'm worried that Google is going to take its own initiative. I know you can ask that AI results not be returned for DuckDuckGo, can you opt out of Gemini?

We need a few TALENTED HACKERS to get into some GOOD TROUBLE & save HUMANITY from itself⁉️🤷‍♀️🤔 JUST BECAUSE WE CAN DOSEN'T MEAN WE SHOULD⁉️😦🥴😏 Even it's own creator WARNED AGAINST IT... So I ask the question couldn't he have just STOPPED IT THEN⁉️🤷‍♀️💙🌊⚖🐸 JUST UNPLUG IT⁉️ #justicematters #NOKINGS

I refuse to believe there aren't a few GOOD PEOPLE w/good brains in their heads now looking around seeing DISTRUCTION of families & attacks on CHILDREN in AMERICA Their hearts aren't breaking at the CARNAGE they see? & harm AI can being⁉️ There might be a few🤞🏼 That's me ever the optimist🤷‍♀️🥴💙🌊🐸⚖

Did he read the books? Theil surely knows that Sauron uses the Palantir's power for evil purposes; by appropriating the name of the object, Theil tells us who he is, his ambition for control. Tolkein would be appalled, from his very Catholic moral standpoint.

Tech bro democracy hackers Putin place their mass surveillance little by little for the next coup before midterms with the excuse of martial law . Little by little like a frog in a cold pan with heat on .

There are many concerns about Google. Just remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. Google is incredibly invasive and if you agree to this feature your life will never be your own again

It’s not, user agreements (often) are blanket to sell data at this point. Frankly, companies have a duty to report anything.. unseemly. Personal, private images with family/ friends are a concern.

All these creepy, pervy, fascy AIs have to be a reflection of the sick personalities of the weak, pathetic techbrofascist losers who make them. AI is a fascist weapon against the people and needs to be banned.

calling it #Gemini sounds nefarious… They had a ‘digital twin’ logistics program that failed, where it was supposedly advantageous to duplicate entire supply chain databases, or something? Why do these programs directors love telegraphing their intentions with not-so-subtle nods? 🐙

Which is a reason to never use your real name (or other real personal information) online, and to use an email account when you register that's not easily traced to you (search for "private email"). Preferably, use different handles for each social media acct to make it harder to cross-index.

Duck Duck Go, but not because I necessarily believe it’s perfect either. Oddly, at the end of my advertising career I was selling Google products in conjunction with print (May it Rest In Peace). Remember how Google’s original ethos was “Don’t Be Evil?” What a hoot, right? Enshittification is real.

In some ways, people who are currently in their 70's and older have an advantage over young people. They were never raised with the idea that the internet was safe. For many, posting something online is equivalent to screaming it out an open window onto a busy street.

If you think these tools are benevolent... you are in for a rude surprise. These are spy tools. They will try to associate you with people in your photos... bad people... and use this against you, not for you. This is a blackmail tool.

Honest question, are any of the Google alternatives NOT dodgy in some way? Proton mail’s pro Musk if I’m not mistaken (?). What about Tuta Mail? I use Brave search but read in this thread they are Trump supporters. Is there anything digital one can trust?

Phones: Non-pixel or GrapheneOS on pixel. Email: Proton Office: Libre Office Browser: Firefox OS: Linux (Mint for Windows-like, Bazzite or CachyOS for gaming) Cloud Storage: Don't. Get drives, back up locally. AI: Also don't. Everything else: Befriend software/server engineers to help you self-host.

Others will have differing opinions on exactly what to use AND THAT'S OK! Read up on the options you're given and pick for yourself.

This is help we don’t want or need. This is a product being forced upon us by stealth. The benefits underweigh the loss in personal decision making. It’s a sophisticated form of push marketing and Google gets to decide which product it shows you and what price point.

perhaps instead of using AI to impinge on people's privacy in order to sell them more shit they don't need, or collect and sell their data, Google could use the technology for something useful to humanity.
