Was just at a surveillance studies conference where I was reminded that Starlink has cornered the market on low orbit satellites for humanitarian purposes, thereby profiting the man who dismantled USAID, who can then be framed thru extremely warped mental gymnastics as commercially "humanitarian."

For sure. But it still sucks to see him profit off this context.

I genuinely can’t say I’ve ever heard anyone, even MAGAs, call Musk’s Starlink situation “humanitarian.”

Like I’m sure there’s a few freaks on Twitter who believe this but insofar as I’ve ever seen, and I track this stuff quite closely, no one is even really attempting to make that stick.
