The switch from the age of confronting an empty browser search box - which forced you to identify your own desires - to the age of auto-playing content social media platforms has harmed our psyches: discuss.

Social media that simply serves up Whatever the Algorithim Wants in automatic play-mode is a parasite upon human attention, degrading our own ability to identify what we even actually WANT at any given time: discuss?

So actually yes, we have studies showing that eg you can clicker train yourself even though you are fully aware of what you're doing. Eating a piece of a favorite candy after completing a task (or a step of it) makes you more likely to do the task in the future even though you know what's going on.

Oh yeah I largely clicker trained myself out of anxiety-induced writers block with just the Forest app

I have found that the vast majority of dog training behavior modification advice applicable to high-drive working breeds also works really well on me (and my therapist validated this approach)

I have a dog who is half purpose bred working breed (Catahoula) and half "affable goofball" (boxer) and I have yet to find an effective strategy for dealing with a dog who thinks she's supposed to have a job but also has a six second attention span (and hate how relatable that is).

I remember when I visited my first nephew around the 20 mo mark. My brother was demonstrating his competencies and grow the same way I trained my dog! (he even used the same queues for some things! :))
