the irony is that there are many journalists who are threatened and killed for their work globally, except they don’t overlap at all with the people willing to attend the MAGA White House correspondent’s dinner

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about and you don’t know anything about the careers of the journalists at that dinner. Blanket statements like that are just posturing. Do you think you just get bombarded White House correspondent with no prior carrier so maybe look it up !

And choosing to attend that dinner tells me all I need to know about someone’s values and priorities during a time of ascendant fascism.

Nope. The “best” wouldn’t be there. And that includes you And we don’t need a scolding from an afp reporter to explain things we all see more clearly than you. Sorry Christophe

It must be nice to live in a world where you can judge hundreds of people that, I assume you don’t know, from your moral high ground. From your handle I gather Ukraine is important to you. One of the guys in that room whose morals you judge went above and beyond to report on the Butcha massacre.

That is a completely different topic and I can understand your point of view. But accusing ALL the reporters present not to care about trauma is nonsense. Some of those reporters have been in places of unimaginable human suffering.

"Some of those reporters have been in places of unimaginable human suffering" - Because they cared, or because they thought it would be good for their career? Because them attending that dinner would very much raise that question about their motivations for me.
