Kerr County did eventually use the ARPA funds, but they went towards a first responder emergency radio system and a new sidewalk project, not towards flood-warning systems. bsky.app/profile/sfki...

Yes, it appears that Kerr County legally could have used ARPA funds on flood warning systems - other communities in the U.S. did. They just didn’t seem to want to. bsky.app/profile/fain...

Some have asked if Kerr County, Texas legally COULD have used its ARPA funds on a flood warning system: this example from New York of a community doing just that seems to indicate they could have. www.mamaroneckobserver.org/post/board-a...

so they bought the cops some new radios? I'm so damn jaded that's the only read i can come away with "first responder emergency radio system" upgrade

"Texas really said we’re going to send you alerts over the same channel we use for flood evacuations and tornado warnings every time a policeman is sad and so everyone stopped listening to them" bsky.app/profile/samt... "when copaganda kills"

"50% of all municipal budgets go to fund guys playing candy crush on duty" "Police solve just 2% of all major crimes" "cops did a work stop, yet crime dropped" "One-third of all Americans killed by strangers are killed by police" 10,000 family dogs killed by police every year (DOJ: "epidemic")

Texas Republicans during the power grid failures: regulations to require the national anthem at sports games "Texas spent more time fighting LGBTQ civil rights than fixing their power grid. How’d that work out?" "A Texas-size failure, followed by a familiar Texas response: Blame California"

"Texans 17% more likely to be murdered than Californians Texans 34% more likely to be raped earn 13% less and pay 3.8% more in taxes" (overall) Every MSM only mentions the word "crime" right before an election! "Germans call this "a permanent bailout." We just call it "Missouri."
