It's hard to tell when Musk is being delusional vs when he is lying. I guess this is what the You Can See Everything is about. It's both and neither and the wrong question.

I think musk is more of a straight liar. his lies often “get the job done,” whereas holmes‘ lies just dont work out and indicate a bigger separation from reality. holmes also doesnt do a big variety of other bad things. His lying is more consistent with iust being remorseless generally

Holmes' lies worked out for a really long time! Musk's conspiratorial thinking is where it gets blurry. My first thought here also was that this is just a lie for the rubes as part of the election, until I thought about it more. Otoh hard to believe he thought FSD would work by 2019 or whatever

every weakness in my argument just points to holmes being more sociopathic, not elon being deluded. If i had to point out one authentic elon delusion its that he didnt look up how much soending is on entitements.
