The correct move for CEQA is to repeal it and the "public interest lawsuit" system that empowers judges to make policy decisions. Replace it with a regulatory system to achieve our policy goals. But the Prop 45 drafters are A) idiots and B) central valley sprawl developers.

As someone who thinks we need to reform CEQA, this was my read of Prop 45, also. Some parts are good, some bad, some uncertain. Esp as it is a check on terrible Trump actions, this is not the way or time to mess with it. www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/edit...

There's no world where the central valley sprawl builders would see eye to eye with Greenbelt Alliance, their goals are directly opposed. But the fact that they made it an anti-HSR measure shows what idiots they are. They could've built a broader coalition with a prop that wasn't so MAGA chud coded.
