One day we need to have a real conversation about business guys’ actual connection to reality! It’s very strange to read this. It’s totally unmoored, supported by mythology. The AI bubble is the great dunce mask off moment. An epoch of chaos will follow!

This will make some folks mad :). The best way for these grocery stores to work is if they use AI to get an edge over private grocery stores. AI is the one way for the state government to out perform private enterprises.

the line never ceases to go up and i find that more depressing to me than the inevitable doom we’ll all face once it does collapse. i’d rather go down pulling screaming tech bros into the fire with me than to see this horror “succeed”.

these guys assume professionals in industries they don't invest in are rubes who don't already have robust infrastructure, IT, etc that maximize supply chain efficiencies. thanks, dude who knows nothing about selling groceries! what incredible insight, no one thought of that until 2026.

I'm not sure if the constant invocation of AI as a catchall solution is a product of billionaires' delusion, desperation, or some incredibly dangerous combo of the two.

I'll bet as soon as you can say this kind of thing without immediately losing your job your faculties start to deteriorate like exponentially. It's clearly something that also happened to David Brooks

The worst thing that can happen to a human's ability to critique is the loss of anyone who will say "that's the stupidest thing I ever heard" to them; whether boss, friend, or employee. Bet Cuban hasn't heard that in decades

i really think you're discounting the possibility of an AI model exclusive to state governments that can set prices and select inventory so good it earns a billion dollars

Imagine if you were a grocer and you put some carts on the sidewalk with boxes of cereal as an enticement to come shop. BUT! Then it starts raining and the boxes are ruined. With ai, it can check the weather and tell You to not put those boxes outside! No way of knowing otherwise

That Cuban guy has been spruicking LLMs for ages. people don’t seem to realise billionaires are not geniuses. They are just survivors in the tech bro lottery. Most wanna be startups and their self promoting sons fail. Or only do lightweight griftage.

I’m tempted to ask “for what? And how?”, if the response is: “machine learning for logistics and automated resupply”, I could tend to agree. I suspect the response would be LLMs though.

There’s been functioning non-profits that have been running for over a 100 years without AI. They are called cooperatives. America is full of the fucking things, you bunch of lefty scum. Over 29,000 with an annual revenue of $650 billion.

Sorry, point badly made. I’m just surprised that everyone is making a fuss out of a non-profit grocery store when US tradition of highly successful cooperative businesses in all areas, from farming to retail to housing. Cuban being a patronising prick thinking they need to learn from free enterprise
