My adult life is lived alongside folks while they/we are make stuff. By the time it’s Out we’ve heard it many times, watched it grow. These days I also experience getting to know - people who wrote things I like - work of people I like (newer acquaintance) - work of people I like (old friends)

There’s likely a whole thing I’ll write about the nuances of that — of rediscovering someone you once knew through their work, forcing through palimpsests of human being and Author Function, knowing an acquaintance better (or not) from their public voice after first impression.
