Anyway the obv takeaway comparing (Republican HHS head openly doesn't believe in germ theory) vs (Democratic SG fired for believing in sex education) is that Republicans are detestable. Which they are! But maybe another lesson: Democrats would lose less often if they weren't ashamed to be liberals.

in practice the lesson the Dems take is that people will cut them slack for being arch-conservatives so long as they occasionally tut-tut at the Genocide and Child Rape Party for putting its seafood fork on the wrong side of the plate
