Pictured: The Bluesky staff hard at work getting it working again

Okay so there is a CDN outage happening and posts made AFTER this one have a gray image, but the image on my post repaired itself from gray after about two minutes. Is this because I self host my PDS?

I'm able to see images on wafrn right now, even ones made from bsky-owned PDSs, which makes me wonder about the precise flavour of this outage.

sure would be great if they had a banner in the UI that acknowledged an outage with a link to a functioning and informative status page. but I guess that’s not how we do things any more

Perhaps some kind of whimsical image of a whale…
