social media in a post-twitter world is much easier to compartmentalize. When you are posting some art or humor you do it on Bluesky and when you are posting something which would be helped by 6 angry and pedantic Germans nitpicking you, you do it on Mastodon

Man, I just finally broke and made an IG and I can tell you I'm already going in with too feral an energy. Like "That guy has two knives and one you don't know about"

@lensman23.bsky.social

I had an account with Mastodon, but it kept freezing on me.

murderwort the vile 🏳️‍⚧️

...and if you want to your posts to be liked by some nice girls with "enchanting videos", you go back to Xitter!

@bleu-capsicum.bsky.social

Someone on Mastodon scolded me because one of my drawings was too dark for them to see on their screen... This resonates with me

@marcsh.bsky.social

So, it dealt with death or something?

@pulsarbird.bsky.social

Mastadon is great for those times when you want the charm of Stack Overflow with the convenience of Twitter if it was made by the team who makes GIMP

"But its just like email" No, no it isnt (And I say this as a long time network programmer)

The great paradox of Mastodon is that it’s full of people who insist that it’s the future and that everyone will be using it soon and that anyone who isn’t already using it is A FOOL! AN ABSOLUTE RUBE! But also they hate it when new people try to use Mastodon.

Serious question. What about Threads? They announced they're going full Meta today and I'm looking at Bluesky now. Can we post legit news stories and have opinions on them without getting shadow banned? And, are the "Original Source!!!" meme police here or can I just post funny 💩? Can I say 💩?

@junctionreads.bsky.social

Gave up on threads a month after we joined. I feel like we need a space that is independent of all the bullshit.

@theactualbrian.bsky.social

Threads capitalized on several opportunities, being the right platform at the time. They're pissing people off now, though. Opening to the EU seems to have let in tons of trolls and porn scam accounts and now the hiding anything that's "political or hard news, whatever that is.

@theactualbrian.bsky.social

Bluesky may have just done so as well. As soon as Threads is freaking out over a ban on news and politics, Bluesky opened to the public.

Wait Mastodon sounds kinda sexy
