Despite technically having fewer textually/canonically queer characters, Outlaw Star is a much, much queerer show than Cowboy Bebop. I do not feel the need to elaborate.

No need to. Bebop is very straight in that particular hardboiled noir Chandler way of jazz, automatic pistols, booze, femme fatales, and sad men. Outlaw is bright and shiny and has magic and broadness and weirdness and BIGness and wild characters like someone cast it directly from a Pride parade.

Oh for sure, not to mention the bisexuality and borderline-textual transmasc read on Gene, not to mention whatever the heck is going on with Harry. And even beyond the characters, the overall theming of the show is so queer.
