Accounts (particularly huge ones like media orgs) should be able to set a "default feed" where, when you visit their profile, instead of seeing the reverse chron, gives you a feed they've created for their audience. This is a killer differentiator and @bsky.app needs to have built it a year ago.

1. Make Discover like For You 2. Improve feed UX (Both using and sharing) 3. Add more opportunities to discover feeds (anywhere from the new Discover feed showing you where it got a post or actual new items in feed generators that allow for cross promotion)

It does many things at once: 1. A clear "show don't tell" of the entire pitch of ATProto, 2. Turns what has otherwise been a high traffic dead zone in social for 20 years into a space for rapid experimentation, 3. Creates incentives for becoming BSKy first (i.e. news rooms can sell direct),

4. Because of getFeedSkeleton, quickly becomes an exportable asset that can reach out to the open web, 5. Creates a built-in flywheel for audience sorting into feeds, 6. Is.... fucking trivial to do? I feel insane that this hasn't been done yet. @alexbenzer.com begging you to revisit

This is a great idea. Should go one step further and just make the profile tabs fully customizable so everyone can pick which feeds show up. For most accounts, the videos tab is most useful for confirming they don't post many videos

Seems very smart to me. Honestly, every profile should be able to have multiple feeds (eg important posts, best replies, etc). Certainly publications could highlight their most high-impact posts. I'd probably do some curation of my feed too. Pinned posts are the crummiest version of this.

Much more for NYTimes etc - which is a vital constituency to win - what if large accounts used feeds to manage their direct representation of self to their most dedicated audiences? A news site's homepage is articles laid out in semi personalized fashion with enticements/ads interspersed to....

make it a viable business. This is just extending the model to a different modality. Media orgs should be able to create a "Your NYTimes" they can control, shape, blend, and iterate on. Direct ownership of relationship with readers. Lots of stuff falls out directly from that imo.
