Cyberpunk Edgerunners II thread ep1: a big leap in storytelling and animation direction over almost the entirety of season 1. I really like the multiple characters tied together, dealing with similar themes. King's is immediately a lot more interesting story of chrome dependency than David's story.

ep2: still good. My main complaint with S1 was that it was so unevenly produced. This season is way more even in animation quality. I like the character dynamic here, and how the story brings everyone together.

ep3: wonder what the payout for this ep's developments are. I still dig they're essentially covering themes from the previous season but also the game.

Also some really good action animation in this ep, like the whole bit with cars crashing around! That’s why you get Trigger!

ep4: sort of an in-between episode, that only sets up the cliffhanger for the next. Not a lot of character development despite King and Talia having a sort of a heart-to-heart. And the whole cast meeting for the first time, too.

I saw some comments about being disappointed in the season, and I guess if you're looking for the type of action that trundles forward like a runaway train like season 1 did, I can see that. My hope is that there's more to it than that.

I hope the cool visual storytelling in the beginning wasn’t just a fluke because it touched well on what’s at the heart of a good cyberpunk story: what is being authentic and human like in a society dead set on glamourizing literal depersonification via chrome

ep5: good episode! Although it frustratingly just added more questions on what's going on, especially in regards to Capri and D's background. The frustrating part is that the new questions could be just repetition of the old ones!

But I dig that the series tells a lot through mood, built through music, character VA and even quiet moments. I think the lack of this sort of storytelling was bugging me with season 1 the most.

ep6: hell yeah. D's revenge media experience is a welcome side attraction, that even builds itself as part of his possible redemption arc.
