Betting on an election you're voting in is illegal for the same reason it's illegal to buy someone's vote. That should be obvious to anyone of average intelligence. The leaders of Kalshi are being determinedly stupid - with bravado - to normalize the stupid. And keep the profits rolling in.

You are encouraged to vote for the candidate that's most likely to win you short term money, not the candidate that you support the policies of. The "invisible hand" manipulating the voter.

Site should already be banned for gambling in general, but such is life. "Prediction markets" are a net negative on society.
