Perhaps my most *substantial* takeaway from "You Can See Everything": There are apparently variable-frequency laser LEDs now? That's got to be huge for affordable spectroscopy. Maybe the time is coming for such a device to really exist.

There's a particular scene where I think Nathan "goes for the throat" as it were, and tries to say "What, you don't get the joke?" to her, but I wasn't fully sold on it. I think she might've just been tired. I do think that she clearly has some hyper optimistic focus style.

I could almost see how a place like Stanford might be perfect for taking an extremely brilliant and compulsively optimistic person and turning them into a hype machine.

The big smoking gun of her fraud seems largely to be the claim of "this machine can do any chemical-based blood test", which may have actually nearly been true in the sense of "a computer can do anything you can imagine": The statement is one of the system's flexibility, not its initial features.
