Got a little annoyed at a tool again - a lot of blender addons trying to add WASD style movement were 1,500+ lines and getting it wrong. Unreal-like movement with panning, WASD nav and camera smoothing. controls configurable. GPL.💖 #blender #unrealengine #gamedev 🔗 codeberg.org/shaderwitch/...

Just because I know im gonna get people telling me about fly/walk mode - I'm aware! The point of this is to replicate how Unreal does it. I prefer not having to enter a mode, and instead just holding right click is much quicker to navigate - I also get smoothing controls. It also adds panning.

blender already has something like this, the only thing i think it's missing is the camera smoothing, just look up "walk navigation" in the search bar, i think there's a way to enable gravity too so you can physically walk around your scene

If you check the replies - I'm aware! But I don't like how it works. I prefer Unreal, just right click to moving around instead of toggling into a 'mode', and additional smoothing control etc.

I’ve been looking for this exact thing for like a year, so thank you! 💜 I did notice two minor issues: There seems to be some zoom/speed steps missing, as you can go from “too fast” to “not fast enough” in a single scroll. Also, there’s no indicator for the scroll steps.

Hey, I just tried it out, this is really cool! Thank you for making and sharing it! Would it be possible to add Q (down) or E (up)?

I was spending a lot of time in Blender last weekend and was thinking that there must be a more convenient way to move around, and doing so like this is perfect. Would it be possible to re-center the cursor in the view when releasing the mouse button? Excellent stuff regardless!

Not too much different! (Shift ~ btw) Adds right and left click to pan around the viewport, and right click and WASD is just more intuitive. I come from an Unreal background so prefer the FPS style movement than a toggle.
