Pretty sure the US has the fentanyl production scene dominated in North America, let’s hit them with reciprocal tariffs that we’ll lift when the US gets illegal firearms under control!

This is the consequence of focusing on exports to the US. Canada - who are we going to trade with since we have relationship issues with: China India Russia Time to strengthen trade agreements with non-US trade partners.

Ha ha ha, he thinks he’s playing hardball! Mexico is suppose to take in 12 million deported people and have tariffs imposed on them. So make the people down there more desperate and angry. I’m sure this will end well…

Well, he made no attempt to hide this during his campaign. So Americans voted for this and get what they deserve. It’s sad how he thinks he can “charge” the other country a tariff. Tariffs are taxes on imports, paid to the US by the importer. We’ll pay the price. Literally.

America, please take note: inflation has dropped to 2% for months now. It will increase due to Trump’s tariffs, labor shortages from mass deportations and the markets reaching to the massive increase in the national debt precipitated by new tax cuts for the rich

America asked for a right royal mess, and they are bracing for much worse. Imagine not even started the game and yet the preliminaries'. Suffice to have a premonition of a tsunami ?

And who will pay it CNN? We the consumer will. Say it! That is why the stock market sold off whenever that felon threatened China with tariffs when he was last President. He's too stupid to know how it works. And so is his cult.

Trump V1.0 was primarily responsible for the inflation which USA experience post-COVID. Americans are about to find out just how inflationary Trump V2.0 is going to be.

Well… every MAGA is going to get their cake in their face. Heard some are already regretting their decision to vote for this man. Sorry if you can’t afford your medications without the ACA. Sorry if you can’t afford to eat. Inflation is going to skyrocket even more.

When a good is imported, the importer pays the tariff to the government. The importer includes the cost of the tariff in the price of the good when it's sold. Domestic producers increase prices to match the higher cost of imported goods. The higher cost of imported goods is passed on to the consumer

Let's hope it's another stunt. People complaining prices are high now, just wait til these tariffs go into effect. Those who voted for him should have googled the meaning of the word and what it will do to our economy.

I only hope that trump voters do actually suffer as much as the rest of us, not because of schadenfreude, well ok a little because of schadenfreude, but because I want them to see the consequences of their faith in a wannabe god king.

Headline for Financial markets: "Tariffs coming, stocks take massive pullback due to coming trade war by Trump, again." Here we go again, the yo yo days are back again. Every morning, markets are going to wait for the Cheeto morning shit tweets, like he used to do. Remember covfefe?

His first day is going to be pretty busy. I thought he was deporting 10 million illegals his first day. He’ll have to skip lunch to make time to dismantle the entire North American economy by imposing these 25% tariffs. Sheesh!

Not only China but all western countries or American allies that are hit with tariffs will build new trade without America where possible. America under Trump will make it better to not trade based on the American dollar. America is decoupling itself from the world.Under Trump that’s a probability.

I urge Trudeau to threaten corresponding tariffs on US goods. We just went through another round of free trade negotiations last time he was President. Americans are unreliable partners in trade. #Tarrifs

This will hurt the Americans more, this has the potential to throw the country into a recession, and totally stifle new wood housing builds. So bring it on, hurt your own people

Just remember that will be reciprocated right back the American markets, especially on softwood lumber and milk. American new housing costs will also go up 25%, along with the thousands of other goods Americans use. Another stupid move to jack prices up in the States. Very short sighted.

Canada was the US’s greatest friend & ally. We went to war for you when you were attacked (friends of mine gave their lives), we gave you shelter when you were under attack & couldn’t go home. We took great risk to rescue your hostages. After everything we’ve done for you, this is what we get. 😡😡😡😡😡

I'm sure Canada, Mexico and China won't respond in kind. Thing is, the US isn't the only country in the world to trade with. The only reason Mexico and Canada trade with the US is due to proximity & lower transport costs. Make things cost more = incentive to trade elsewhere. Capitalism 101.

Biden lowered unemployment, wages are you, the infrastructure bill is going great, many prescription drug costs are down, inflation is down, oil production is a record highs… the fixes are working and take time to set in. A GOP presidency always increases debt and causes a recession. Get ready.

If only your cousin took a look around. I'm originally from Canada, now living in Australia. Both countries, my friends, families, social media posts & my own first hand experiences prove the cost of living going up was not just a "US Thing." It got expensive for all of us at the same time.

I am from Canada, and I know that it will hit us hard, on both sides of the border. Our government will have to respond with massive tariffs, mostly on products from the "red" states. I can see many veggies and fruits on the tariff list. At the same time, USA will be deporting so many farmworkers.

Drugs from Canada heading into the U.S. of A. LOL . . . can we talk about the drugs, guns, and "foreign interference" in our politics that all come from south of the 49th . . . oh, please do add a 25% tariff on the crude oil that is sent from Canada to the failing United States of America . . . sigh
