woohoo my sunn beta lead is fixed! reverb works again! and this weekend going to get my jazzmaster and mustang repiared (both have some wonky ass switches and dials that i cant rely on anymore.) feels good to get things fixed

and its the most chicago process: 1) shop only takes appointments through a web form that looks like it was made in 1994 2) guy calls me to setup apt to drop off 3) drop off was just through the door. to someone i havent talked to 4) 2.5wks later i get a call that its ready & they only accept cash

I once emailed a shop here and whoever it was emailed back saying, "hey remember when people used to call to ask questions?" and nothing else.

Where’d you take it? Last amp work I got done was at Chicago Amp/Fret Works, which was only because it needed repair when I bought it and that was their preferred repair shop. I’m not excited about my next amp repair journey but I’m too scared of mains voltages to try and do anything myself

This place by me call just service www.justservice.com And it’s mostly because it’s close and because they didn’t bat an eye at a solid state amp from the 70/80 I think if I needed any of my tub amps I would probably go to CME But these guys may do that as well.
