"It's Dr, actually" I'm very excited to share this new pin with you all! canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/1841...

I'm not expecting these ones to have a massively broad appeal or to sell that many. I'm not even convinced I'll make my money back on them but I really wanted them to exist! (Very happy to be proven wrong though, so please share!)

I wanted to make a pride pin that highlighted trans expertise. So many of the trans people I know have advanced degrees in their subjects and yet I rarely see trans people shown as experts in the media. Even on trans-centric topics, cis experts often make up the entire panel!

If you're anyone who doesn't look like the stereotypical image of a Doctor, you've probably noticed that people revert back to other titles and are more likely to ignore your expertise. For trans people, this often comes with a bunch of misgendering too

Getting a doctorate is hard work and it absolutely sucks when people swap out that hard-earned gender-neutral expert title for something that simultaneously ignores your expertise and dismisses your gender.

Trans people deserve to have their achievements recognised and to be part of expert conversations. If my little pin can help to highlight that expertise then I'll be thrilled.
