Is that still followed by the "why didn't our people put aside their own reservations about our lack of commitment on various social issues to the side and vote for us?" Season? ...Cause as a non-American, it's noticeable.

I hope it gets better because it seems like all the USA has is people who would destroy the world over a mean comment, and people who would twiddle their thumbs while someone else destroys the world, and a lot of Americans are good people who deserve actual leadership instead of whatever that all is

I think a big problem is that there are very few people who have any real structural power who actually have any desire to do the hard work required to make things better and a lot of people who just want to maintain the status quo because they're just there to collect a paycheck.

It does seem like a lot of regular folks actually are sick of this and want to see a better world and some of them are running for office so one can only hope that they can shake things up.

You'd know better than me. To me, it came off like in Peru (I was there during a local election), where all the candidates had been bought off by the same company (so the entire election just became theatrical hate vs, utter indifference), but I don't know what it is in the US. It's weird, though

I mean I'm just some idiot in Canada, where we have our own problems to be sure, but it seems like the US is also making their problems our problem too which isn't ideal, really.

you're definitely not an idiot. I'm Canadian too, though I don't live there currently (and it is admittedly amazing how quickly you get a little out of touch with North America when you aren't there). Wish Trump would leave everyone alone. Sorry to talk your ear off.
