A huge chunk of my work since going fulltime in software has been on "decentralizing" "identity-tech", putting me in the fringe of account/login/verification/KYC land, a pile of wormcans that 99% of software folks would LOVE to outsource and forget. For context, see: www.igalia.com/chats/vcs
I've also worked on a lot of cryptocurrency projects, including some KYC tooling for Circle, standardization processes within and across various blockchain scenes, informed by much of that "single-sign-on without hooli/apfel" research mentioned above chainagnostic.org
I think a lot about governance and process, and I definitely prefer working across organizations to making one set of shareholders richer M-F/9-5. I've worked for a few startups, even cofounded a few, but I prefer working with foundations. Longterm work for IPFS Foundation and identity.foundation

Before going fulltime in software a decade ago, I studied and taught fiction and philosophy, doing lots of translation and language teaching for good measure. I wrote the preface to the American edition of the Eternaut, which is in print (and topical!) again: www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
As an exercise in dogfooding, I host copies of my public presentations and podcast appearances at video.archive.bumblefudge.com , which can also be followed from ActivityPub clients if that's useful to you.
