I do think protests are supposed to be disruptive and are supposed to make people uncomfortable. E.g. blocking roads is a good thing

People like to bring up MLK and non-violence to say that people being disruptive are protesting wrong. But like…they shut down roads. They sat where they weren’t supposed to and got beaten for it. “Non-violent” is not the same as “peaceful”, and non-violence is not the only effective tactic

Saying this because I saw someone deriding disruptive protests as “antisocial” and saying that people who block roads are playing into fascists’ hands. It’s just such an out of touch perspective that completely lacks any analysis of power.

I saw that and had the same thoughts and decided not to interact with that person. Agree with you completely. Thanks for saying so.

Yeah I saw you quote the post that had that reply underneath and I agree with both what you said and with the post you quoted. But someone in the replies took it in a direction that just made me angry lol

Couple of those In general I am reluctant to get heavy handed with Anti Social Behavior labels in a world where the social contract has been shattered by a bunch of fascists but there is a needle to thread here because we also gotta all stop fucking each other over so bad for ten seconds
