For cell service do not simply move your own sim to a new phone. That gives law enforcement too much information. Get one of the prepaid plans. At the end of the protest, let the account expire. The next protest get a new account. Create info exhaust. Make them work for their data.

Follow on note. If you're going to buy a burner phone, seriously consider one of the non-mainstream Linux phones. It's good enough for going to a protest and since it's not Android or iOS, you will make it more difficult for the cops to get into it.

I don’t think a lot of people get that on Bluesky things like “blocked” and “must be logged in to view posts” are just requests the host makes to clients, and clients don’t have to obey.

Problem is, if they want you, they're coming for you, regardless if what you post. You don't tow the line? They just fucking abduct you and ship you out of the country, they don't need evidence or sentences or anything.

Make sure there are back-up secure comms not on US big tech platforms servers. Know who secure comms are owned by and who owns the servers they’re on.
