The Community has decided to sleep in

The folks who were going to protest the Bergen St. bike boulevard and bus redesign on Thursday are now doing it on Saturday morning. The white women organizing this have coopted BLM imagery, and they've dropped the fact that they're protesting against "fast buses" from some versions of the flyer.

She’s asking the mayor why he supports the five ballot measures that “effectively cut out the tongues” of the people (who have concerns about their “way of life”) and 20 years of the “draconian gentrification policies of Transportation Alternatives”, along with some babble about corporations.

She also needed a car to take her then-infant with a 106 degree fever to the doctor (we took my kid to the doctor in a car once and it was actively more difficult than the G or the B103). This was apparently “life or death”.

96.6% of non bike riders are apparently in active opposition to the 3.4% of “able bodied” cyclists who ride “seasonally and only in fair weather”. A “true green movement” needs “dynamic transport options”, which is why she wants solar panels on gas stations while actively picketing a bus lane.

Ah, shit. Can you share anything about that? Did they pass anything around or she just said it? It's insane that the Zinerman/KCDCC camp is trying to do push a write-in campaign instead of showing solidarity.

She just said it, it’s in the clip, probably 20ish minutes in? bsky.app/profile/benj...

Also, she’s upset he won’t meet with them so they can express their concerns about how bike lanes, center median bus stops and (I’m not making this last one up) the loss of parking affects community safety. She starts around the 17 minute mark. www.instagram.com/reel/De4eKPM...
