None of our supply comes from there. And none of our supply travels through the Strait of Hormuz. Oil companies are just reaping a windfall profit and raising prices because they can. Trump is most likely profiting greatly for the war in Iran. Why else would he do the opposite of what MAGA wants?

Two wars took diesel off the market: 1 that Trump said he’d stop on day one. (2 years ago), and the other that Trump started with no plan after saying no new wars. Pre-war; Middle East = 3.3 million barrels oil a day. (W/ 20% global diesel.) Russian oil accounts for less than 2% of global diesel.

Why not ask why Russian supplies matter since they aren’t supposed to be on the market anyway? In fact, wouldn’t shutting off Russian oil completely be the way to put pressure on Russia to end the war and fix supply problem?

Don't be fooled by "listed oil prices" between $87-100 those are futures estimates. Refiners are actually paying $20 more than that to purchase the oil they need today. Not since 2022 have spot prices been this high. This is called backwardation. They are not coming down in the near term. He lies.

That’s a very selective explanation. Russia/Ukraine is part of the diesel squeeze, but so is the Iran war: Gulf refinery and export disruptions have materially tightened supply. Wright himself acknowledged reduced diesel flows from the Gulf on CBS two days ago.

The US banned Russian oil in 2022, and the EU banned Russian diesel in 2023. About 20% of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Since the US went to war with Iran, tanker traffic there is down about 93%. The diesel shortage didn't come from Ukraine.
