There aren’t fountains in the reflecting pool. Fountains would not allow for reflections. This boob has no idea about the contract, the contractor, the cost, or the reflecting pool itself.

There aren't any "fountains" in the reflecting pool -- unless he means spouts through which the water is replenished. (My feeling is they are using various projects to pilfer $$s by inflating original costs.)

The point of the graphic is that $25 > $100 *is* a 400% increase (not 300%, though that may have been a typo in your post) However it doesn't follow that $100 > $25 is a 400% cut (as Trump would attempt to claim). It's a rather less bombastic 75%.

What no one has yet explained is how much of the $13M cost is for the so-called emergency repairs to the reflecting pool, and how much of the cost is because Trump wants to paint it blue to make it look cheesy resort swimming pool. Skip the vulgar paint job and get it done quicker.

Now if the proposal was to paint the bottom with Vantablack, so that it looked bottomless and by contrast made the reflection more intense than before, THAT would be a cool idea. Painting it blue is going to make the reflections look covered with blue haze. Swimming pools aren't painted

Fountains not working is a BASIC maintenance issue. NO emergency. Also, it had diddly-over-squat to do with painting the concrete bottom, which was the STATED purpose for hiring this company! 😡
