Bessent on Trump bailing out Argentina: "It is America first because we are supporting a US ally."

I can't believe people aren't talking about the fact that Trump is using $40b of US taxpayer's money to bail out a billionaire friend of Scott Bessant - Robert Citrone - who had Argentinian investments. That's the ONLY reason for the bailout - as usual the mainstream media is COMPLETELY ignoring it.

And the USDA has just released $14.5 billion to soybean/corn farmers in upper plain states by direct payment as a bailout. And Bessant tells “ This Week” he is a farmer. He has $25 million in ND acerage (farms or leases?). Apparently, he will benefit from the bailout of his leasees?

Anything - ANYTHING - to avoid supporting US citizens. This, BTW, was the real "Reagan Revolution" - to completely dissociate any consideration of "Americans" from the concept of "America."

Trump bailing out Argentina: "It is America first because we are supporting a US ally." trump siding with Putin : ''"I don't think they will win the war against Russia. They could still win it. I never said they would win it ... you know war is a very strange thing."

It's so strange to me that men this old - I use the term "men" loosely - are willing to debase themselves, taint their entire legacy, by saying demonstrable bullshit like this OUT LOUD ON TV. Presumably, Bessent is an economic success and has a family. Why not just enjoy it?

seems the whole idea of maturing or leaving a legacy is completely alien to this crop of people - either they try fringe therapies that are supposed to make them immortal, or they "live life to the fullest", hurting millions of people

I find these shows frustrating. There’s a question and an answer to it with dodges, straw men, risible analogies and outright lies. Then a shift to the next topic. How do we know we’ll get the money back? What about the cronyism? What happens if Millei loses? What do we get from them in return?

So now USA will send aid to Ukraine? Military or finamcial? Or they will continue to demand payments from this ally? US administration is really so stupid these days that my brain cell are dying of shock from their statements.

Corrupt US administration. Corrupt Argentine administration. Billions of dollars changing hands. Nothing to see here. Just helping friends. MAGA - Making Argentina Great Again. America first.

No, you asshat. It’s billionaires first with your crew. Like your friend Rob Citrone, a billionaire who bought stocks in Argentinian companies and bought more stocks a day before you announced you were bailing them out. This’s your ally- a billionaire helping another billionaire get richer.

But NATO? Ukraine? Canada? The only way to understand why Bessent or Hassett or Miller are allowed on TV is to concede that Americans are really, honestly, astonishingly, stupid. The "policy" of America is whatever big orange baby wakes up and says.

They know the President is unhinged; he has no one who can or wlll speak truth to his immunized power; he has no guardrails constitutional or ethical. The GOP majority in Congress, in the dire fear of "being primaried," is simply willing to let him burn down the place. 1/4

The increased tariff on Canadian goods is the best example of this: No one can or will tell Trump that the ad with the Reagan speech is absolutely true, verbatim from the transcript. And yet, our neighbor is being subjected to an increase because big orange baby hurt feelings, ouchy. 2/4

We are a pretend Republic now; make now mistake. As long as (1) Congress conllects its pay for doing nothing (literally); and (2) no actor within the administration will gainsay Big Baby, we are subject to nothing resembling the check and balance popular sovereignty envisioned by the Founders. 3/4

Argentina has not sent fire teams to help the US. Argentina does participate in international firefighting efforts with other countries, but not with the United States, according to the provided information.
