Just launched a new site. First time I (mostly) built one myself since my Geocities (IYKYK) days. Wrote about why prompting might be the next big skill for designers. → www.antonsten.com/articles/des... Would love to hear if you’re thinking about this too.

As a developer, I always thought designers needing to code was about them having the knowledge to communicate with developers, more so than actually building whole websites themselves. I thought it was always about *communication*. The idea that this might not be necessary anymore saddens me.

I never thought designers *had* to code, but they should understand how their designs get built. That means understanding code. Same way that interesting objects or building were designed by people who understood materials and construction.
