This is because Statement 2 is worded badly. "...when it leads people away..." To a Christian it translates as "is empathy bad when it's bad?" Yeah you're gonna get some people saying yes to that. This is a terrible survey.

It doesn't translate that way to atheists because the clause is about "God" and they just read it and go "well there's no god so.... No?"
