strongly dislike the implication that being an atheist makes you of inferior moral standing such that it entails being a chud, or, in the elision popular these days, a fascist. all the fascists are religious nutjobs and their friends in this country

"Reddit atheists" are real, and they have an incredible hit rate on picking groups that would be malefactors in our society. The real issue is that there were largely teens and therefore posted cringe. Since everyone is 12 posting cringe is unforgivable

And maybe this is because I fell out of the community before it got rancid('05-'10) but of the groups that I viewed as malefactors in that period, only 1 has managed to get better. The rest have all metastasized into worse versions and formed an alliance.

The catholic church, they've pretty consistently gotten more progressive. So while they're still about 20-30 years behind on a lot of stuff, they're not nearly as bad as they were in the '00s
