It's not for the diesel, it's the precedent of "going back to business with Russia". How about lifting sanctions on oil drilling and refining equipment next?

Bad enough he’s a Russian asset. But now he has aligned US foreign policy with Russia and against Ukraine, Europe and Canada. You know he won’t respond if Poland or Estonia invokes Article 5. What do we do now? He’s destroying 80 years of alliances. Do we just sit here and let it happen?

Yes, I can easily believe he’s this weak. He’s a lifelong coward, con man, sexual predator 34x convicted felon that is, at best, compromised by Russia.

Most amazing: the orange weakling embraced Putin as Russian designed ballistic rockets are killing American tourists in Ryad

"... how much more evidence is necessary to assess that Trump has undermined U.S. national security and is working for Russia? And how much longer will Republicans in Congress continue to protect him as he does it?" - Heather Cox Richardson

Recall Trumps campaign manager Manafort was secretly working a deal with Russia to in 2016-2018 to get the US to agree with Putin's annexation of Crimea. Trump has been sucking Putin's cock for nearly a decade. Probably longer given Russian money bailed him out in the 90s

Haven’t seen a US President bend the knee to a foreign leader like this since Reagan was Thatchers bitch boy. Thing about them Republicans, they can genuflect with the best of them

Yes, Trump is Putin’s bitch! 100%! Epstein gave Putin everything he had on Trump. That is why Trump does whatever he is told to do. All Trump’s errand boys have to pay homage to Putin! And bring back Trump’s next instructions! Trump is a traitor to our country and Putin’s errand boy! Putin’s bitch!

And expensive. This 12 days worth of putin war financial support, costs twice as much as Canadian diesel imports. We sell hella diesel to y'all.

21 days: The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 (H.R. 5334) was passed by the Senate August 7, 2026 (by a vote of 86–11), passed by the House September 16, 2026 (by a vote of 262–159), and signed into law Friday, September 18, 2026, by President Donald Trump

Context: 300k tonnes of diesel = 93 million gallons. US uses 160 to 170 million gallons per day - so 300k tonnes would last 13-14 hours. Total order of 1.8 million tonnes = ~82 hours of US use = ~3 days 10 hours. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It wouldn’t surprise me if this was their endpoint. Everyone else in the world banded together to boycott trade with Russia. Only our fool was either forced by blackmail or greed. 🤬🤬🤬

There is enough diesel. It's just fucking expensive because of Iran and Ukraine. Both foreign policy disasters for Trump. Stupid little traitorous gestures like sucking Putin's tanker will do fuck all to lower the price. But an executive order capping the price would. I wanna see him do it

Yes, yes I can! Though I would not describe it as weak, I would describe it as so many other things; amoral, psychopathic, sociopathic, narcissistic, envious, greedy, friendless, treasonous, illiterate, opportunistic, gluttonous….man the list is long

So, Trump blames Ukraine last week for high fuel prices due to refinery damage, which indicates a shortage, yet Russia has extra to sell us, all while Russia is helping Iran, which has in fact caused the high prices of fuel. Trump is at war with Iran, while helping Russia buying their fuel. Got it.

And what quality of diesel is it? Find Russian diesel from a Greek taker seems like the beginning of a bad joke Or at the very least a bad idea as a captain of a vessel taking on thousands of gallons Cars are way more sensitive and don’t have the same filtration system Typical Trump idiocy

Getting Putin’s petro products back into the market was part of his plan in invading Iran to begin with; he gets to hurt Iran & Ukraine, while making Vlado & Bibi happy. Those two do, after all, have all the video of Trump raping dozens of children at Epstein’s place. He has to please them

Hey America, can you believe how weak and pathetic the Republicans are? They could've voted to impeach him and then this wouldn't be happening. But Mitt Romney was the only moral and ethical Republican who voted to impeach.

Be ready for darker scenari now. DT and Putin are ready to make whatever it takes to stay in power. False flag attack on US soil is quite a possible thing now.

I completely DO believe that trump is weak. He's sold out our country, piece by piece. He's given us to the enemy. For what? A few kind words and just zillion dollars! He just handed them Ukraine with a fruit basket. A mother, daughter, grand daughter and beyond American here. BTW.

In the US, can states import diesel on their own - without federal interference? I think it would be brilliant for Canada to sell 4.3 million barrels of diesel to the Northern blue states before Nov 3.

Goes a long way in proving he is Putin’s puppet. Putin knows he is running short on time. If he doesn’t put the thumbscrews to Trump now, he loses influence in January. Putin wants money and maybe other things like gold bars in that tanker for return. Fishier than first appearances.

US weapons for Russia to use on that damn recalcitrant Zelenski next. He's got to be taught the lesson that when the boss wants to steal your land you don't fight back!!

Yes I can believe it. He showed America who he morally was before he took office and the saddest thing to me is at that time America embraced it. He used his election as jet fuel to systematically disrupt this country. Hate, division and becoming arm of Putin

One thing I don’t get is this: Trump responds predictably to flattery but say he is weak for doing something and …crickets. Zero change in trajectory. One would think that calling out his weakness would make him want to prove otherwise by changing course

I don't understand how this is legal. And I'm also not sure I would trust fuel supplied by Russia. And my mom got a $90 refund of Medicare premiums and an emailed letter from El Naranja himself so I'm wondering how we paid for that, too

Jake Broe has a good analysis. Trump has the power to sanction Russia. 1) Sanction Russia 2) Russian overseas oil assets become worth less 3) Trump buys the assets 4) Trump lifts sanctions 5) assets increase in value And that's the bribe.

It's not about the diesel, Trumps doing what he can to get as much money as possible before losing the midterms. Even if it means throwing all alliances under the bus.
